Why Self Care Is Important if You Want To Manifest Money [And How You Can Thrive]

I’ve been through a lot of shit (and survived), but part of the experience of all of the “shit” is that it helped me learn how to manifest money and thrive.

The trick is to get through the negative feelings about yourself to see this truth, and it takes self-care. And when you master the art of real self-care, you can manifest money, or whatever you desire, to your heart’s content.

Self-care is kind of like spiritual, emotional, or mental hydration. Just the same as athletes need to be hydrated to perform well; we need the equivalent of that to perform well in our life. So if you want to manifest money and THRIVE, you’ll need to take care of yourself. All the money in the world makes no difference if you aren’t “hydrated” in the right ways.

My mom taught me about self-care when she risked the loss of financial security and social acceptance/approval by deciding not to be married to an abusive husband anymore. Her decision to take care of herself resulted in her making all of us safer, our home life more peaceful, and finding a much better husband and father for our family.

And while we didn’t land a millionaire lifestyle, we definitely made a drastic improvement. For one, my new “dad,” Gary, taught me about the good kind of pride: accepting, loving, and appreciating yourself profoundly. And those qualities have facilitated my ability to manifest money throughout my life.

Self-care is acknowledging that you deserve to be financially free. Limiting beliefs like “money doesn’t grow on trees,” “money is the root of all evil,” and “rich people are assholes” are some of the mindsets that keep us from taking care of ourselves financially.

If you’re operating with any of those programs playing in your mind as noted above, I would 100% suggest that you find a way to change your thinking as soon as you can….

As I mentioned above, I’ve been through some shit. But now, I happen to be living what some would call the American Dream. I got here by not allowing the fear of failure or the judgments of others to paralyze me. I think both a healthy dose of rebellion and a zero fucks attitude can be helpful on the path to success. It’s a way of life that allows you to honor your dreams and your path to success without getting caught up in others’ opinions about what you should or shouldn’t do.

No one knows what’s best for you more than you do. People with advice about how we should conduct ourselves often speak from their fears and limitations, and if you take that advice to heart, you are also taking on those same fears and limitations. Not giving a fuck about what other people think is a great way to kick fear and limitations to the curb and manifest money in your life.

Having a creative outlet is another great way to take care of yourself and manifest money. Creativity, and the things I have chosen as creative outlets, have (directly and indirectly) helped me to manifest money in many different ways. See my previous blog post (The Short Trip From Creativity to Innovation) if you’d like to delve deeper into that topic.

Another big piece of self-care is about being a part of something bigger than yourself. Everyone needs to feel like they’re accepted and not alone. That’s why I believe finding your “tribe” is so important when it comes to living a fulfilling life. No matter what stage in life you are in, finding a community to welcome (and not judge) you is essential to your success and your ability to manifest money. No one makes money without help from others!

Since I’ve been through so much shit in my life, I’ve had to learn to embrace failure. I have learned the value of not listening to the inner voice of negativity, what I’ll call the “bully within.” (For more on that topic, refer to the previous post, Fighting the Bully Within and Learning to Believe in Yourself)

I’ve found that when we are most ashamed and filled with self-loathing and yet choose to survive, we can actually flip the script and become prouder of ourselves than we have ever been. So, I don’t think it’s worth beating yourself up over the failures or fuck-ups in your life. Instead, I believe they should be examined and seen for what they truly are: signs from the universe telling you it’s time for something new.

Yes, friend, the universe always has your back. Really internalizing this truth is a form of self-care, and it’s also an excellent way to manifest money, or a loving partner, or your dream home, or whatever you seek. Because when you know, the whole universe is on your side, the possibilities are wide open!

I’ll leave you with one final life lesson I’ve learned about how to master the art of self-care and manifest money. That is the importance of time and space. Everybody needs time and space just for themselves, even the most social, goal-oriented person— maybe them, most of all. So, if you’re feeling frazzled, burned out, or overwhelmed, it may just be that you need a little time and space to recover, heal and get back on your feet.

When you give yourself a sanctuary free from the noise where you can sit and reflect on your past. It’s a perfect time to refocus your present and rebuild yourself from the inside out to face your future. When doing this, you allow your mind to open to infinite possibilities.
